Back in stock for 2021, the Traditional ‘Stour’ Copper Rain Gauge brings a slice of countryside tranquillity to your home. Named after the River Stour that forms the historic boundary between Suffolk and Essex, this eye-catching instrument will offer an accurate and dependable method to monitor the rain for years to come.
Meandering through the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the River Stour has influenced notable landscape artists such as John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough. A haven for wildlife, the river flows by quaint villages, rolling meadows and ancient woodland along its route to the North Sea.
Our 1037 Traditional Copper Rain Gauge was described by Amateur Gardening as "A quality rain gauge beautifully made and likely to last a lifetime" and received a great score of 13/15 based on features, performance and value for money.
The rain gauge consists of a copper and brass funnel, copper collector and calibrated plastic measure. The rain is collected and funnelled into the inner plastic measure from which the contents can be measured. Any additional rainfall is collected in the large copper body of the rain gauge and can be measured by pouring it into the supplied measuring jar.
Copper rain gauges are universally used by meteorologists, academics and in commercial applications, and also make an ideal 7th wedding anniversary gift for the theme of copper.

Whatever the weather, enjoy the great outdoors with the help of this beautifully crafted wooden banjo barometer.
The Gainsborough is a quintessentially British barometer in the traditional banjo style. Finished with a mahogany stain and lacquered brass bezels, the CM4281 barometer would suit any home making it the perfect birthday or retirement gift. The 4281 reads air pressure from its wall mounted location and can advise you of what weather to expect in the next 24 hours.
A slow, constant increase in pressure indicates a period of dry, settled weather; whereas a steady decrease indicates persistent bad weather. Turn The Gainsborough’s brass pointer to rest directly over the black pointer to act as a marker, enabling you to recall today’s pressure value when comparing it to the following day’s readings. Humidity and temperature values are also displayed.
Personalise your banjo barometer with an engraved plaque (up to 40 characters). Plaques are scallop cut and gold effect; sized 50mm x 25mm.
Suitable for indoor use only to preserve the finish of the wood.

The brand new ClimeMET CM3505 Wet and Dry Bulb Hygrometer is a traditional weather watching instrument with a modern twist. Inspired by the wild flowers of the hedgerows and meadows of Great Britain, our hygrometer features a beautifully designed back plate, and comes with a comprehensive guide to hygrometric conversion. Ideal for seasoned weather watchers, as well as those new to the hobby.
A wet and dry bulb hygrometer consists of two thermometers. The dry thermometer stands alone, whereas the wet hygrometer extends into a small water tank via a piece of hygrometer wick. Using a conversion table, the dry bulb temperature and the web bulb depression, you determine the relative humidity. The instrument serves as a fantastic learning resource for both mathematics and meteorology, and the included instructions cover everything you need to know to make the most of your instrument.
The protective roof shields your hygrometer from falling rain, and the detachable water tank makes it straightforward to top up the water for your readings.
The 3505 is available with either a °C or a °F scale, and you can make use of the top mounting hook to hook your hygrometer onto a fixing, or both the top and bottom mounting hooks to screw your hygrometer to a wall or fence post for additional stability.
Dimensions | 300mm x 110mm x 34mm |

ClimeMET was created by a man who loved the outdoors. He had an inner connection with the weather and would stand on the beach in Norfolk watching the waves and the clouds roll in, as he waited for the right conditions to go sailing or windsurfing. He wanted to design a brand of weather instruments that was made for people like him, who feel this connection to the natural world around them. A brand whose products were powerful enough to record the strongest of winds and the fiercest of storms, but lightweight and stylish enough to blend into our homes, our gardens and our lives.
